Rapget is a download manager for file-sharing services. There are many download managers out there that are widely used for Rapidshare file links, and most of them are great. But so is this little contender. There aren't many details about the application's operation on the website, so I am going to tell you what I noticed when I tried it. Firstly, the thing that surprised me the most is the support for more than SIXTY file sharing services. Usually, it is Rapidshare and Megaupload, but this thing has them all. Also, the application is very small. At under 200kb for the installation package, you can have this on your e-mail account ready to use anywhere. It is also easy on system resources. The application allows you to input file-sharing codes onto the main GUI and you can download those files one at a time, or start a queue of files that will download one after the other. The speed depends on your connection and on how congested the servers are. But I got a good download speed right out of the box. Since this is not your everyday P2P application, you shouldn't need to forward any ports or any of that. The latest version of this application is 1.41. However, this review deals with version 1.3. |
